Oatlands Primary School was established in 1996 and serves the residential area of Oatlands and surrounding estates in Narre Warren. We have a student population of over 1,200 students. Our students, staff, parents and the wider community all work together to maintain a clear sense of purpose to develop self-esteem, tolerance and respect for others. By developing a safe, caring and friendly environment, we work to celebrate success and build on student learning at every opportunity. We strive to build on student connectedness to each other, staff and those within the community. Our school's values of Respect, Effort, Kindness, Resilience and Creativity.

Our school is committed to continuous academic achievement in all areas of education with an emphasis on English and Maths. Staff assume a collective responsibility for the learning, personal and social growth of every student. Digital Technologies remain an ongoing focus at Oatlands Primary School. Our Year 4, 5 and 6 students participate in a Bring Your Own Chromebook (BYOC) program, enabling a 1:1 program to take place. Across the school we have sets of Chromebooks in every classroom (Foundation - Year 3). Our Chromebook learning program allows our students to develop the skills and knowledge they require to live and work successfully online and within their community.

Through educational excellence Oatlands develops students who are risk takers and independent learners. Our students are nurturing and socially competent and are able to use their skills to contribute positively to society. All students are encouraged to have pride in their school. Student leadership is a focus at Oatlands and many opportunities are offered to students throughout their education. Our student leaders are confident and cooperative and lead by example.

The students remain our first priority as we strive to nurture a learning environment in which they can grow and develop both socially and academically. Small class sizes, straight grades and a range of social enhancement programs cater for the ongoing enrichment of all students. Our Wellbeing programs include Buddies, The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Program and The Cyber Safety Project Program. These programs prepare the students with life skills to assist them when dealing with bullying behaviour (physical, emotional, cyber). We have a full time Educational Psychologist who is able to support and enhance the learning of our students. There is an ongoing commitment to, and encouragement of, parental participation in each student's education.

Oatlands Primary School provides extra curricular activities for our students and community including; school choir, hiking, cooking, the Sporting Schools Program, keyboard tuition, guitar tuition, Chess Club, public speaking and Kelly Sports Program . We also support the Outlaws Basketball Club, Oatlanders Netball Club and Casey Panthers Soccer Club, which all originated at the school. Oatlands has a wide reputation for our ceremonies commemorating ANZAC and Remembrance Days. All students participate in our annual school Dance production.

The Parents and Friends Association actively supports the school with fundraising and friendship and is extensively involved in the organising and running of our bi-annual Fete and Art Show.

The School Council supports the school in diverse areas including technology initiatives and school facilities and by providing engaging classroom resources to strengthen student learning. Resources funded include additional classrooms, artificial turf oval, Prep Pirate Ship Playground, an Art/Craft Centre, the Classroom Kitchen, the Library, a Before/After School Care building, roofing over the basketball courts, Interactive TVs and whiteboards and air conditioning across the school.

Through the combined efforts of the teachers, staff, School Council and local community the school is well positioned for the future.
