Oatlands Primary School

English

english1.jpgAt Oatlands, we have a strong English Literacy focus across the curriculum. All students participate in our explicit Literacy model which incorporates the Daily 5 and the CAFE reading strategies program. Individual needs are catered for ensuring that all students are given many opportunities to maximise their learning. Whilst our approach is structured it is also sequential and consistent across all year levels. Our Literacy program provides our students with varied and relevant language experiences.

Reading comprehension is a priority as well as grammar, punctuation, spelling, speaking and listening and writing. We provide our students with a Literacy program that provides them with the language skills required to make sense of and operate in our ever changing world. Our goal is to assist our students to be life long English Literacy learners.
